The first of two Russian hybrid supply vessels was launched with the name of “Anatoly Klimov”. The unit, that will have a sistership soon as part of the project ST23WIM-N, had been commissioned by FSUE “Rosmorport” for operation in the seaport of Vanino.
Transfluid is proud of being part of this challenging project, along with its Russian distributor Marine Technics MT-Group, having supplied the innovative hybrid system for the Anatoly Klimov. The advanced propulsion systems had been developed for facing the multiple operation conditions of the vessel in an optimized duty cycle; among the scopes of the ship there are: crew members and families delivery, environmental monitoring, shipping lanes control, pilot boat and search and rescue operations.
The primary running modes are Diesel, which helps the vessel reach maximum speed and long-range cruise, and Electric, when the vessel will sail up to 7kts at cruising speed. The additional modes are Booster, which combines the power of the diesel engine and electric motor for extra thrust when needed, and Regeneration, when the electric machines operate as generators for fast charging of the 56.7kWh battery pack.
The boat is 25,5m LOA, 6,6m BOA for approx. 90 tons displacement. The main propulsion will be ensured by two MAN V6 Diesel engines, producing 600hp at 2,100rpm. For each shaft line, the hybrid system consists of Transfluid’s HM3350 module, with two 75kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motors running at 3,000rpm fed from a 288V battery pack.
As first hybrid propulsion system installed in the Russian Federation according to ICE3 class regulation, a major work side by side with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) inspectors had been done for the first case-by-case study, Transfluid technology, after the several certifications obtained in Europe, is now proved compliant also with the RMRS regulations.
